Practice Scenario Comparison

Compare two sets of section marks to see how changes affect your weighted composite. The first calculation becomes your baseline. Change a score and calculate again to see the difference in composite percentage points.

Compare practice scenarios

Use the calculator below for one scenario, then change any section score and calculate again. Both weighted composites appear here for comparison. No AP 1–5 cutoff is assumed.

Section Performance

ⓘ   This tool calculates a practice composite using published exam section weights. It cannot determine an official AP score (1–5); actual score conversion varies. See methodology.

Interpretation

This tool compares weighted practice results only. Score conversion can change by exam form and year; the comparison does not predict a guaranteed official AP score.

Compare one change at a time

Start with marks from the same representative practice exam and calculate a baseline. Increase one section, calculate again and read the difference in composite percentage points. For instance, changing only an LEQ from 3/6 to 4/6 changes the weighted composite by 2.5 points because that section has a 15% weight. Changing several sections together gives a total scenario difference but does not identify which change caused it.

The comparison remains in the current page session. It does not save a student profile or guarantee a particular AP grade. Keep a separate practice log with test source, date, conditions and rubric notes if you want to track progress across weeks.
