AP World History Preparation Resources
Choose resources by the problem you are trying to solve. Official materials are the first reference for exam structure; class notes and textbooks help you understand content; practice feedback helps you improve your reasoning.
Official course information
Start with the AP World History: Modern course page and the official AP World History: Modern exam overview. The course and exam description outlines units and skills. Review the 2027 AP History exam updates when preparing for May 2027, especially before following an older video or question set.
Practice and feedback
College Board publishes past free-response questions and scoring guidance. Use them to study what a defensible thesis, specific evidence and sourcing explanation look like. If you have access to AP Classroom through your school, ask your teacher which practice sets best fit your current unit. Official Bluebook test previews help you become familiar with the digital exam interface.
Use independent tools carefully
Our original questions provide additional low-stakes practice; they are not official exam items. The calculator helps you compare weighted section results, while the rubric self-check counts only the criteria you choose. No third-party tool can replace feedback on an actual essay. Set a focused next step after every practice session.
Match a resource to a task
For exam structure, use the current official exam overview. For unit scope and reasoning skills, use the current course and exam description. For writing, read released free-response scoring guidelines alongside sample responses, asking why evidence earned or missed a point. For a historical gap, return to your course textbook and notes before collecting more practice questions.
Students with an AP teacher can ask which AP Classroom practice sets align with the unit they have completed. If you lack that access, public official course pages and released free responses still provide primary references. Be careful with older videos and answer keys that assume pre-2027 question choices. Date and source matter.
